Monde Selection – BZK Alco with three Gold Medals
Three vodkas from the BZK Alco portfolio received Gold Medals in the prestigious international Monde Selection competition. Kazimierz Wielki and Björn were honored with Gold Medals, while Senator Komorowski Organic Vodka received the Grand Gold Medal. All awarded products have only recently been introduced on the market.
Monde Selection is the oldest in the world institution involved in the study of food quality, having operated since 1961. All submitted products that take part in the competition are subjected to detailed laboratory tests, as well as being tested by experts on the basis of the so-called blind organoleptic tests.
The Grand Gold Medal is received by products that reached at least 90 percent of the maximum number of points awarded, the Gold Medal, those that received no less than 80 percent, the Silver Medal – 70 percent and the Bronze Medal – 60 percent. The prizes are awarded once a year in nine categories: spirits and liqueurs, beer, water and non-alcoholic beverages, food products, chocolates and confectionery, cereal products, wine, dietary and healthcare products, cosmetics and tobacco products. Medals are handed out during a gala ceremony. This year’s ceremony will take place in Valencia, Spain, on May 24th, 2018.
Product testing is carried out by laboratories and research companies of BRUCEFO (Research Center for the Food Industries), INSTITUT MEURICE (Institute for the Fermenting and Brewery Industries Research & Development) and EUROFOOD (Specialist Consultants for S.A. Food Industries and Food Safety).
The vodkas that received the awards are 100 percent Polish products made from highest quality raw materials – high quality grain and crystal clear water from the producer’s own sources. They are distinguished on the market by their excellent taste, as well as the image and the attention paid to the packaging and labels. Kazimierz Wielki, with a 40 percent alcohol content, is aimed at a wide range of consumers looking for premium products. It owes its quality to long distillation, during which it acquires its unique character. Senator Komorowski Organic Vodka is an ultra- premium brand (40% alcohol content) and is made from selected rye grown on certified organic farms. Its exceptionally velvety, smooth and delicate flavor is due to the slow distillation process and specially extended rectification. Björn, a premium pure vodka, is available in two versions – 45% in a black bottle and 40% in a frosted white bottle. These bottles stand out on the shelf because of their innovative style: smooth, matt, as if carved from glass, covered with a thick font. The bottles perfectly communicate the product features – exceptional power and a velvety, delicate flavor.
